We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation. Had to wait for a table for a while but the staff was very polite. Food menu was widely spread with lots of vegetarian options. The restaurant has an open kitchen so you can watch the food being prepared. Our order arrived soon and the dishes were beyond excellent. Fresh, warm and soul comforting food. It was truly an amazing experience and would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

🌟 Chennai Chef - a hidden gem for South Indian cuisine! 🚋 Just a 3 mins away from the nearest tram stop, this place is a must-try. I savored their Masala Dosa, crispy and flavorful, perfectly paired with hot, tangy Sambhar and authentic coconut chutney. 🍛 The Papadam was a crunchy delight, especially with the sweet and spicy chilly chutney. 🌶️ Can't forget the Mango Lassi, which was the perfect refreshing touch. 🥭 Affordable, with a great mix of veg and non-veg options, and the staff are just the kindest. Easy payment (card/cash) 💳. Loved it and will be back! 😊 Update: Kothu Parotta is not available

One of the best places in the region for authentic south Indian style dishes. The people who own the place are extremely polite and accommodating. For groups, it is recommended to reserve a table in advance. Food does take a bit of time, but that is just cuz they make it to order. Wide variety too. Too bad they had to stop serving kothu parotta, which was their best dish by far.

Great place in Köln to have amazing South Indian dishes such as Dosa. I always get Podi dosa here with the masala tea. You gotta have reservations as it’s a small boutique restaurant. The owner is super nice and the staff is very friendly. .

Food was okay, service were very very slow. Apparently, they do faster service to people with kids. Didn't have a great experience with them, they forgot my order. I had to wait for my food for more than 1.5 hours, while my friends finished eating thiers.

Recently visited Chennai Chef which is this cozy place, not so fancy from the outside but has a pleasant environment inside. We ordered medhu vada,2 veg thalis, 1 egg dosa, 1 Mysore masala dosa, and filter coffees, sweet Pongal. The food was prepared to perfection, and the flavors were spot-on. The dose was big and tasty, coconut chutney was fresh. The veg thali reminded me of home, it was authentic South Indian food. Thali had vada, parotta, and many curry and dry dishes with dessert. The host was really sweet and accommodating, she even offered extra sweet pongal as we loved it. I also loved that we could request extra chutneys. The overall experience was delightful, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of South India.

Authentic South Indian food in Cologne,Germany :) We tried Chicken Briyani, Parota and Chicken Chennai Chef and Methu Vadai:) All were top notch. Felt like home food🥰

It is one of the best South Indian restaurants in Germany that I have tasted. Dosa, chutney, and sambar are quite authentic and taste good. I recommend dal vada, which is outstanding, and a lamb biryani, which is a typical South Indian type. Try filter coffee as well. However, I found the coffee to be either too strong or too bitterish+sweet. Overall, it was a very good experience.
